The Part-Time Vegan: 201 Yummy Recipes That Put the FUN in Flexitarian
by: Cherise Grifoni
This book teaches what it means to adopt veganism and how to get started. It’s a guide for those that are new to veganism and wanting to try it out. There are a lot of unique recipes that will keep any kitchen interesting! Each recipe is coded to let the reader know if the recipe is a protein, a fiber, quick to fix, or if the recipe is a flexible recipe for when you’re not "in a vegan mood". I appreciate that this author makes suggestions about veganism but isn’t overly dogmatic and pushy about her beliefs and eating standards. That makes this cookbook very adventurous, but not feel demanding.
I found this cookbook very interesting! I’ve already tried out four recipes and I’m looking forward to trying more. My husband and I are both meat eaters but we are okay with not eating meat at every meal, so these recipes are fun for us! If you want to sample two of the mouth-watering recipes from this cookbook, visit my recipe blog at http://besteverrecipecollection.blogspot.com/2011/06/crepes.html and http://besteverrecipecollection.blogspot.com/2011/06/peach-thyme-muffins.html
The only challenge I have found with this cookbook is that some of the ingredients, like agave nectar, quinoa, vegan margarine, soy yogurt, and others can be hard to find at a typical grocery store. Other than that, I think these are great recipes! I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone wanting to try veganism!
